STANBIC Bank Zimbabwe has reopened its Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo branch in Bulawayo, which was closed in January to facilitate state-of-the art renovations.The bank’s head of personal and business banking, Brian Ndadzungira said the refurbishment was aimed at delivering efficient customer service to clients in the city.
The new look branch, which is in keeping with a new concept adopted by Stanbic, re-opened its doors on Tuesday.
“We’re pleased to advise our customers of the reopening of the branch. We’ve adopted a fresh and improved look as part of our customer service concept for all our branches going forward,” said Ndadzungira, in a statement.
He could not reveal the cost of renovations but said the branch, which is situated at corner JMN Nkomo Street and 8th Avenue, would have a customer service area that closes at 4PM while the banking hall cash area will still close at 3PM during weekdays.
“The branch will cater for the needs of personal and business customers and will provide a 24-hour Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to accept Stanbic, Visa, MasterCard and Zimswitch enabled cards.
“Our MoneyGram and Mukuru.com service have a dedicated service area within the branch,” he said.
Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe was recently named the best emerging markets bank in the country.
It has branches in Harare, Gweru, Kwekwe, Mutare, Chegutu, Ngezi, Victoria Falls, Hwange and Beitbridge.
Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe is part of the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest bank by assets.
As at December 31, 2014, the group had total assets of about $165 billion while its market capitalisation was about $20 billion.
