As momentum gathers for Season Three of national talent show Star Brite, registration is in progress and close to 400 people are said to have contacted organisers in the first 10 days of the process.
A number of developments, among them the coming on board of Minister Walter Mzembi as the patron of the show are promising a brighter event this year.
“Fans should expect a more polished season as we are no longer working with numbers but quality.
“We have engaged partners in different provinces that are doing our preliminaries so that we do not waste time,” said Star Brite executive director Barney Mpariwa.
Renowned artist Cont Mhlanga is currently heading the Bulawayo preliminaries while Kariva Arts Club in Kariba has come on board to scout for talent in the tourism town.
“The rest continue to register on our official website and phone lines.
“As soon as we finish negotiations with the Harare City Council we will have a registration booth along First Street mall for easier access to the people,” he said.
The show’s director has somewhat taken a different stand from his usual calls for stakeholders to support local productions and investing in upcoming artistes.
“We continue to be optimistic as we are past the period of mourning over short comings.
“There are stakeholders and other sponsors that see our vision and believe in us that continue to support us.
“This is because we are changing lives.
“We are no longer concerned about those who do not see bigger picture in this project,” he said.
In that respect, Mpariwa also applauded the support from loyalists like minister Lazarus Dokora and sponsors that have stood by them over the past years.
The talent search show had a tightly contested final last year and Trust Mukurumire won the singing category.
