Star FM’s finest deejays will tomorrow enhance the partying culture in the inaugural Bashment Party to be held at Show Ground’s Dandaro Inn. Organised by popular MC, Simbarashe Maphosa popularly known as Templeman, the weekly gigs will feature the likes of DJ Nosh, DJ Storm, DJ Ash Styles, DJ Nivek, Buffley, Mighty Ducks, DJ Banks , Super DJs, DJ Vee, and Garry B who is out to remind fans that his specialty is not limited to dancehall.

“This concept we want to bring back the days of Tropicana, KFC and Synergy where night clubs would get packed with music lovers. The days when there was variety and energy,” said Maphosa.

The show is set to amplify the radio version where guest deejays get slots to perform live mixes for an hour.

Because of that, all genres; house music, R n’ B, old school reggae and lovers’ rock will be firmly represented.

“Normally, these DJs get an hour on Star FM to do their thing but in this case it will be for the whole night. We will give out the very best of all worlds to promote local music also. We will include the a few artistes that sing good mature raggae music,” he said.

The gigs are targeted at the mature crowd and exposing local deejays to their fans.

“The shows will be centred on the DJs than the artistes. Unless we have a guest artiste on special events, focus will remain on them. We want to build a strong family of entertainers,” he said.

For familiarisation and marketing purposes the shows will be free for the next two weeks. In the near future, the shows will be hosted in different venues around the country.
