THOUSANDS of music lovers thronged Old Hararians for the monthly gig dubbed The Big Chill hosted by Star FM, Zimbabwe’s leading commercial radio station. The show, which was broadcast live on air and presented by Otis “The Flow” Fraser, saw several DJs on the turntables among them Chuckie, Hotspitter and the duo of Ash Styles and Nivek of the “Game Recognise Game” fame. All the DJs were on point.
The handover-takeover was without glitches thanks to digital technology nowadays DJs do not have to carry mountains of records.
Judging by the number of people who attended the show on Friday it was easy to see why Star FM commands a huge listenership.
It’s a radio station which set the trends and people love the initiative such that they don’t miss it.
As usual there was the VIP area where you get to mix and mingle with some of Harare’s socialites and celebrities.
The members only VIP is where you get to sit and enjoy the cool vibes.
Added to this were standout performances by Ammara Brown, Tehn Diamond, Junior Brown and Take Fizzo. Ammara did not disappoint neither did rappers Tehn Diamond and Junior Brown.
This was not the first time for Tehn and Brown to feature at the Big Chill since they performed at the very first edition.
However, it was a joy to see the guys rocking the mic like never before.
Fungai “Kush” Zvirawa of Khaya Defero, who put together the show with Star FM’s Breakfast Club hosts Comfort Mbofana and Bongai Zamchiya, was excited that the show was growing with each month.
She was also happy that the show saw the official launch of the Carlsberg beer brand in Zimbabwe.
