Star-studded entertainment line-up for Chief Dakamela Awards

THE Chief Dakamela Awards, also known as Imiklomelo kaDakamela, promise to be the pinnacle awards event of 2024 with a star-studded entertainment line-up.The two-day extravaganza in Nkayi district, Matabeleland North is where locals are recognised for their contributions to society.

The event boasts a diverse array of performers, including Maskandi, Dancehall, Rhumba, Folk music, poetry, traditional, imbube and more.Additionally, traditional, contemporary and pantsula dancers will take the stage.A staggering 50 entertainers are set to perform, from seasoned veterans to emerging artists.

Insimbi ZeZhwane, Msiz’kay, Ndwangenkulu, Mlandi Wetshitshi, Collen Moyo, Pumula Junction, Inxele Lika Selo, Joseph Zulu, Khumalo Afro, Martin Dawu, Mabekwankosi, Fish F Ndaramu, MaDewa & Abantwana BeNsindiso Yama Nazaretha, Zimhlophe Mthombeni, Bhamuza, Vutha Buciko Be Africa group, and Magogo Emkulwini.

More performances will come from Alloe The Rapper, Sekunjalo MaAfrica, Thandy Dhlana-Jele, Skhosana Band, Echoes Of The Groove Band, Mzoe 7, King Phosa & Nkayi Challengers, Izinkanyamba Music Productions group, Magazi Primary School, DJ Mathanda Ijahelifitshane, Lucy Da Poet, Intombi Zako Jama group and Mzilikazi Primary School are the groups that will perform at the event.

Chief Dakamela expressed excitement about the event, assuring attendees of an unforgettable experience.“Everything is in place. We’ve prepared to host thousands of people in Nkayi. Come in numbers and experience the magic,” he urged.Artist, Dr Gasolo, one of the organisers, assured that the event will be filled with extravaganza.

“We’ve done our part, and now we look forward to the artists showcasing their talents,” he said.The social event will also include awareness campaigns where different institutions will raise awareness about their services.Today, the artists will take the stage as various institutions conscientise people on critical subjects such as Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), HIV and other contemporary issues.Chief Dakamela said that the awards ceremony will be accompanied by a showcase of houses and other community projects accomplished by the community.
