ASPIRING musicians, dancers and other talented individuals in Mutare have an opportunity to showcase their abilities as the StarBrite talent search prepares to come to the eastern border city for Season 14.
The initiative is calling on aspiring artistes to register for auditions, giving them a chance to pursue their dreams without having to travel to Harare.
From singers and dancers to instrumentalists and performers with unique talents, the search is open to individuals who believe they have what it takes to shine on the national stage.
Organisers said registration is underway at Mutare Tales Arts Association, located at Ubuntu Backpacker, 53 Fourth Street, Mutare, at a commitment fee of US$5.
The organisers are targeting at least 50 acts before setting a date for the auditions, with 16 participants having registered by Monday.
The call for more aspiring artistes is expected to widen the pool of talent and give individuals from Mutare and surrounding areas an opportunity to showcase their abilities.
For many young people with artistic ambitions, opportunities to break into the entertainment industry can be limited by the costs associated with travelling to major cities and accessing platforms that connect emerging talent with a wider audience.
Bringing StarBrite to Mutare is therefore an opportunity for local talent to take first steps toward realising those ambitions.
Over the years, StarBrite has earned recognition for discovering, developing and nurturing talented artistes who have gone on to establish themselves in the entertainment industry.
In a statement, the organisers said the competition has played an important role in identifying and nurturing talent over the years.
“Over the years, StarBrite has been credited with the discovery, development and nurturing of many talented artistes who are plying their trade in the industry to date.
“As we prepare for Season 14 in Mutare, we are encouraging aspiring singers, dancers, instrumentalists and individuals with other exceptional talents to register and take advantage of this opportunity.
“So far, we have received 16 registrations, and our target is to reach at least 50 acts before setting a date for the auditions. We are therefore calling on more talented individuals in Mutare and surrounding areas to come forward and be part of this exciting journey,” said the organisers.
The talent search has provided a platform for aspiring performers to demonstrate their abilities, gain exposure and pursue opportunities in the competitive entertainment industry.
For Mutare, the arrival of Season 14 presents an opportunity to showcase the city’s artistic potential while giving aspiring performers a chance to be part of a platform that has contributed to the growth of the entertainment sector.
With registration still open, organisers are encouraging individuals with singing, dancing, instrumental and other exceptional talents to step forward and seize the opportunity.
