StarFM receives award

ZIMPAPERS radio station Star FM on Friday scooped a Zim Dancehall Award for 2014 for its role in promoting the genre over the years.

The station was honoured at a glamorous ceremony held at Harare’ Exhibition Park.

Star FM was named the Best Radio Station which Supports Zim Dancehall.

This comes after the station recently received an award from Mpilo Central Hospital for its excellent coverage of health issues.

Star FM public relations and communications manager Beatrice Tonhodzayi-Ngondo said: “We are excited about the recognition.

“We promise to continue promoting local music as well as up and coming artistes. It is the way to go for a dynamic and growing station such as ours.”

The award comes as Star FM is taking its popular breakfast club show to Bulawayo from tomorrow to Friday, and its drive-time radio show and 3-2-6 Express from March 16 to 20.

This is in line with the station’s move to take radio to the people this year.
