IT will be an entertainment jamboree when an assortment of the country’s music gurus meet for the Makomo@ 6 music gala at the Colliery Stadium in Hwange on 14 October.

The annual musical extravaganza, which traditionally attracts Zimbabwe’s music gurus has become popular and always attracts huge crowds in an electrified and supercharged atmosphere from early hours of the evening to the following morning.

The show promoter Eusabia Rayire confirmed to Sunday Life that all was in place for yet another entertaining event.

“The show is back and all the logistics are in place for what should be another well attended event at Colliery Stadium. The crowd pullers in the country’s music like Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah, Sulumani Chimbetu, the Charambas and Peter Moyo will be sharing the stage and entertaining the crowd.

“Obviously there will be a number of local supporting artistes but I am still in the process of finalising the list of those but I can assure everyone that those chosen will ably complement those big names and spice up the fun and entertainment,” she said.

The event organiser for the host company, Kuda Nyabonda highlighted that the show was more like a family event.

“It’s more of a family day since our stakeholders and employees’ spouses will be given a chance to embark on a mine tour during the day before the night gala where top musicians will entertain Hwange communities and bring people together praising God for moving with Makomo Resources for six years,” said Nyabonda.

Macheso and Jah Prayzah have managed to command a huge following in the coal mining town and if the reception to their respective latest releases is anything to go by, then a much bigger crowd will be expected.

Macheso’s latest album Tsoka Dzerwendo and Jah Prayzah’s latest offering Mudhara Vachauya have both dominantly been played in most of Hwange’s entertainment joints, parties, public transport and even in households to mention but just a few.
