Stepdaughter killed

Daisy Mukandatsama (27) of 1583 in Unit A was not asked to plead to murder when she appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini.
Mr Jarabini remanded her in custody to April 8.

She was asked to seek bail at the High Court since she is facing a serious offence.
According to State papers, Mukandatsama, who is a mother of two got married to the deceased’s father after he separated with his first wife last year.

During their stay from December 2 last year to March 1 this year, she was ill-treating the now deceased accusing her of messing her pants.
On March 19, she reportedly assaulted her several times until she collapsed.

The court heard that Mukandatsama called the girl’s father informing him that she fell and became unconscious.
Postmortem results revealed that the minor died as a result of head injuries.  Mr Lovet Muringwa prosecuted.
