A Harare woman has won a peace order against her stepchildren for insulting and threatening her.

Ms Helema Tsongora appeared at the Harare Civil Court on Thursday where she applied for a peace order against her stepchildren, Tafara Robert and Lia Robert.

She told the court that her stepchildren wanted her to leave her husband’s house and threatened to be violent if she did not vacate the property.

“They send me messages on my phone saying that I should leave the house peacefully or else there will be trouble,” she alleged.

“I do not know why they are doing this to me because their father is alive and they should be talking to him about issues that concern the house and not me. l want to live in peace in my husband’s house. l do not want all this drama.”

Tafara said his stepmother must vacate the house because they want to live there.

“Our father is the one who told us to go and live at that house, we want her to leave so that we can move in because we do not have anywhere to stay,” he said.

Presiding magistrate Meenal Narothan granted Ms Tsongora the order and warned her stepchildren to stop insulting and threatening her. The court also warned the stepchildren against taking the law into their hands.
