UPCOMING gospel musician Sithandiwe Nyathi, who uses the stage name Stha, has announced her arrival to the music scene with her debut album Phakama Dwala.

The album is a soul-stirring collection of worship songs that speak to faith, hope and spiritual elevation, marking the emergence of a powerful new voice in Zimbabwean gospel music.

Stha’s musical journey began at just eight years old, singing in the Baptist Church choir in Luveve. From captivating audiences at Mafakela Primary School assemblies to performing at Inyanda High School, music has always been more than a talent; it has been a vessel for her faith, a means of expression, and a calling to uplift others through worship.

Over the years, it has grown from a personal calling into a professional pursuit, culminating in the creation of PhakamaDwala.

The album, whose title translates to “Rise, O Rock,” is both a proclamation of strength and a heartfelt expression of devotion.

The project opens with the empowering title track Phakama Dwala, moves into reflective and patient worship on Linda and Ithuba Liphelile, celebrates God’s greatness in Andoyikinto and rejoices in divine goodness in Koba Mnandi.

Stha’s journey of love and faith is further explored in Uthando, before closing with the life-giving tribute Umthombo. Together, these songs offer a worship experience that is both intimate and universally resonant.

Produced under the guidance of SoMuchMusic, the album benefits from a team committed to nurturing talent and elevating artistry.

Stha said the album is meant to strike her entrance as a believer and musician who wants to use the opportunity to create lasting impressions.

“Releasing Phakama Dwala is just the beginning of my journey. I hope to continue creating music, perfecting my craft, and sharing more albums that inspire, uplift, and bring people closer to God.

“This is my way of giving back through worship and spreading hope through song,” she said.

Dumisani Gumpo of SoMuch Music said there are on a growth trajectory of unleashing hidden raw talent.

“We are thrilled to launch Stha as part of our growing family of artists. Last year we unveiled Tiae, a jazz musician, and we’re preparing to introduce Jiggaman, a reggae artist. We are also excited to collaborate with Nkwali on her latest album.

“Our passion is helping musicians and producers across all genres craft their unique sound and elevate their projects to the next level. At SoMuch Music, every artist’s vision comes to life with crystal‑clear precision and unmatched quality,” said Gumpo.

Stha plans to follow up with new singles, collaborations with leading gospel voices, and live performances that will further establish her as a compelling voice in Zimbabwe’s gospel music scene.
