Still-Waters Academy hosts successful culture night

Students from the newly established Still Waters Academy recently hosted the third edition of the Arts and Culture Night that is in line with the 2001 UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity to celebrate culture on May 21.

The night which ran under the theme ‘Opening the doors of learning and culture from Cape to Cairo’ was filled and had a fusion of poetry, drama, song and dance from students and prominent artistes like Fungisai Zvakavapano, Memory Chinamasa, Itai Sekeremo and many others.

National Arts Council deputy director Nicholas Moyo was the guest of honour at the event. He urged both schools authority and students to dialogue on culture, and not only be confined exclusively for academic gymnastics for the sole purpose of stretching and sharpening their brains. He said students should partake in debates or dialogue on culture through our Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture that is striving to make arts and culture a part of the national agenda. – Cool Writer.
