Stingrays excels at Matabeleland 4th swimming gala

THE Matabeleland Swimming Board (MSB) held its fourth swimming gala at the Bulawayo City Pool on Saturday with Stingrays Club dominating the competition to finish top of the table with a combined score of 177.

Barracudas swimming club came second with 127 points followed by Affiliated Crusaders Swimmers with 86 points. Penguins Club had a total of 78 points while Falcons Swimming Club amassed 59 points.

Zambesi Tigers and BG Dolphins each amassed 23 points while Mabelreign Sharks had 15 points.

Most of Stingrays’ points came from the boys who topped their category with 144 while the girls contributed 33.

The win is the second for Stingrays this season having won the first which was held in October with 355 points. Barracudas won the second and third galas with 377 points and 132 points respectively.

The fifth Matabeleland gala will be held on Friday at the city pool.
