adminrobberies and murder in Chitungwiza and Ruwa has appeared in court charged with unlawful entry into premises.
Justin Momela (35) of Gambanga Village under chief Kadeya pleaded not guilty to the charges when his trial opened before provincial magistrate Mr Archie Wochiunga.
He denied that the firearm was recovered from him saying police recovered it from some other people in Ruwa.
The complainant is Jaison Simbarashe Matonhodze.
Prosecutor Ms Memory Mukapa alleges that on November 27 last year at around 0030hrs the complainant arrived at his house and put his service pistol with nine rounds of ammunition in a drawer in his bedroom.
It is alleged that the complainant went to his sitting room and watched television until he fell asleep on a sofa. On the same day at about 0400hrs Momela went to the complainant’s house and forced entry into his bedroom after cutting the burglar bars, it is alleged.
The State says he stole the service pistol and went away unnoticed. On March 2 this year, detectives from CID Homicide arrested Momela in Chivaraidzo Phase Two, Bindura in connection with a murder
case, which occurred in Chitungwiza.
It is further alleged that he was found with the pistol, which the complainant positively identified.
