‘Stop having an affair with my hubby’

A HARARE woman has lost her case in which she approached the court seeking a protection order against her husband’s lover.

Veronica Chawazaza appeared before Harare Civil Court magistrate Rutendo Machingura seeking a protection order against Penny Gote.

She claimed Gote was having an affair with her husband. The magistrate dismissed the protection order application for lack of merit.

During the court hearing, Veronica said:

“I always see my husband going inside her house with money and he comes back home empty-handed.

“This affair has been going on for some time now and it’s making me unhappy in my marriage and I don’t have peace anymore since my husband is mentally ill.”

In response, Penny denied the allegations stating that they were childhood friends with Veronica’s husband.

“We have been childhood friends with the husband and it’s well known in the entire neighbourhood.

“There is nothing going on between us as she claimed.”
