Morris Mpala, MoB Capital Limited
WE have attended some transformation sessions by one Mr Zwelibanzi Ndlovu and we have to come to think we need to take the advice in the literal sense.
Zimbabwe as an economy needs to STOP, THINK & START afresh.
We have reached a stage where we are a bit confused on where to start, what to do, when to do it, how to do it, which to do. We just need a month to sit down relax and think on how we should start fixing our economy.
This is necessary as what will be lost on that month will be recouped as we start afresh with so much vigour and vision such that the loss will compensated by the new focus. We are a bit directionless and in panic mode as nothing seems to be working both in our personal and business lives.
Nothing that we touch turns to gold. We are all over the show with half backed measures and some of our quick solutions are causing more challenges. At times we offer wrong remedies to the wrong challenges and at times not knowing what to do. Times are bad, let us not pretend as if all is well. Let us not have bliss in stupidity because when reality hits home that will be late.
Things are not working for now and let us just STOP everything for a month and take stock of ourselves and our operations to understand where we are really for us to be able to map a clearly defined way forward. It is kind of silly but right now Zimbabwe needs just that approach otherwise we will sink deep into economic turmoil that will take ages or never to redress.
These are now desperate times and we need desperate measures because economic growth is not coming at the levels we anticipated. Let us read the signs and be aggressive in our approach. The tell tale signs are there and we ignore them at our peril.
Zimbabwe is blessed with talent but we are not blessed with listening ears. Let those with ears LISTEN and LISTEN GOOD. For 2017 MoB Capital declares this month as a month of listening. Just pure listening where we will be fast in listening but slow in speaking. Let us perfect our listening skills without already listening. Let us lend our ears to each other above all listen to that inner voice of reason.
Surely we cannot continue as if it is business as usual. Extraordinary times require extraordinary approaches. And extraordinary people will drive us to Canaan, not typical solutions. The normal way is not required now. Guess what we have in our midst the talented, gifted, blessed individuals to take us to a financial utopia only they can stand up be counted.
Taking stock of where you are involves just being on hold and accesses your situation and the best way to do this is stop everything you are doing and do an introspective analysis.
After a thorough audit then you can move on with your endeavors armed with a strategic plan based on where you are. Where you are has to be based on a candid/honest scan of your current situation. We have talked and talked but it’s time for action. Let us act. Let us implement all those policies. Let us come together and fix everything that is wrong. The beauty is that we all know what needs to be done it is just the will-power that is missing.
Can you imagine what Zimbabwe will be like if we worked together after putting our heads together.
Imagine the economic powerhouse that we could be if we implemented all those blue prints. Imagine the financial utopia that we could create if we did not move lackadaisically in solution prescriptions. Imagine the financial reserves we could have had if we listened to each other.
How much would we have acquired in money terms if corruption was eradicated? All this could be achieved if we forgo personal aggrandizement and pursue a selfless approach to management of our economy as one people seeking unprecedented financial freedom.
The power in working together can move mountains and awaken the giant that has been in slumber for ages now.
Happy New Year
It is the Chinese year of the Rooster and in this year we live in the hope and faith that a brand new period is beckoning but above all only you can make a difference for yourself and the community. I am so positive it is a year to celebrate yourself and your unique abilities as you change the community into a better place for future generations to cherish. Only you can make the difference. No time for blame games but for once we will work together and enjoy our beautiful country together both in good and bad times.
To an excellent year ahead.
Best wishes in 2017.
