Streak, Campbell hail Ozias Bvute

hailed for bringing Test cricket back into the country.
Many cricket pundits interviewed during the victorious Test match against Bangladesh, credited the Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director with rebuilding the image of the organisation and the local game.

Bvute has been credited as being the brains behind several initiatives that have seen the local game improving in leaps and bounds over the last few years.
For years he was viewed as the reason behind the game’s fall from grace.

Alistair Campbell, the Zimbabwe Cricket Convener of Selectors, hailed Bvute for working tirelessly to get the game back on its feet. He said Bvute and his management team had managed to put the right “systems” in place to make a return to Test cricket possible.
“I would like to give credit to Ozias Bvute for making it possible for Zimbabwe to get back into the Test arena,” said Campbell.

“He has worked tirelessly during the last few years to make this happen and we are all happy that we are back and back in a big way.”
Former national team captain, Heath Streak, who is now the team’s bowling coach, said there was need to give due credit to Bvute, in particular, and ZC, in general, for the return of Test cricket.

“We should give credit where credit is due,” said Streak.
“Although it was a team effort with the whole country rooting for Test return, Bvute and the ZC deserve a pat on the back for a job well done.”
