STUDENT Chaplains on Saturday cheered inmates at Bindura Prison.
Africa Chaplaincy Training Academy students, led by Chaplain Nyamasoka, donated cement for a Bindura Prison church hall, tracksuits for the choir team, washing soap and food stuffs.
“There is a purpose for everyone to face any challenge in life regardless of how you ended in prison cells,” said Chaplain Nyamasoka.
“Each and every person outside prison has the energy to look for money, feed themselves and other people but that power will come to an end one day.
“You will need someone to pray for you at the hospital bed or in prison cells.
“At that time, your real life will roll like a video and you view the true facts of your own life.
“Ipapo munhu wese anozarurirwa kuti kune muridzi weupenyu anonzi Mwari.”
Chaplain Nyamasoka added:
“God allows everyone to face the reality of life and this is the time he is working in you during your incarceration to produce a better person, a better Biblical Joseph.
“I am aware that a number of inmates, and those admitted in hospitals, yawn for prayers.
“Prayer is powerful and God answers prayers of whosoever finds time to give him the honour he deserves.”
He challenged people to visit inmates, support them and accept them upon completing their sentences.
Chaplain Nyamasoka said everyone is a potential inmate and a potential patient.
“God is the one who gives us power to be rich and to live.
“Let us all enjoy the forgiveness of our sins, which we received through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and repent.”
Their donation were received by Chief Corectional Officer Nyanyiwa Mavhurwa.
