A UNIVERSITY of Zimbabwe Biomedical Engineering student has launched his mobile application, which he wants to be a library of African-oriented content, including movies, TV shows and documentaries, on Play Store

The App is already available in 15 countries, including four African nations.

Wilbert Machoba, 21, founded his company, Exoplanet Studios Inc, on May 3, and has been working on the development of the App.

“I founded Exoplanet Studios in May and it has rapidly emerged as a pioneering media streaming platform, offering an unparalleled library of African-oriented content, including movies, TV shows, videos, documentaries, and much more.

“As a customer-centric start-up, Exoplanet Studios is committed to rolling out groundbreaking features every week.”

Machoba said that by December, users will be able to upload short-form videos (less than 10 minutes) on his App’s video feature, empowering creators and fostering community engagement.

“With services already available in 15 countries, including four African nations and 11 international markets, Exoplanet Studios is poised for aggressive global expansion.

“The company aims to make its products and services accessible to all 54 African countries, bridging cultural gaps and promoting African content worldwide.

“In a bold move to redefine the tech landscape, Exoplanet Studios is developing a revolutionary feature that merges streaming capabilities with social media functionality.

“This innovative integration will enable users to communicate with loved ones seamlessly, rivaling popular platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp.

“By converging entertainment and social interaction, Exoplanet Studios is poised to reinvent the tech industry and propel Africa into a new era of digital excellence,” he said.

Machoba said last year that he dreams of establishing a chemical manufacturing plant in Africa.

He founded his company, Chilbur Chemicals (Pvt) Ltd, in July last year.
