A 24-year-old quantity surveying student is making a name for himself in the consultancy sector, defying the odds and proving that age is just a number.
Michael Muzembezi, founder and CEO of Mikealist Consultancy, identified a gap in the compliance sector and seized the opportunity to capitalise on it and fund his studies.
“I saw an opportunity and ran with it.
“Many company owners don’t have the time or expertise to handle compliance paperwork, which can be a tedious and time-consuming process.
“So, I decided to offer my services and help them focus on other important aspects of their businesses.”
Michael’s journey to entrepreneurship was not without its challenges.
With the guidance of his mentor, who is also a seasoned consultant, Michael established Mikealist Consultancy in December 2021.
Since then, the company has grown steadily, attracting a loyal client base and earning a reputation for excellence in the industry.
As a full-time student, he had to juggle his studies with the demands of running a business.
To make it work, he had to make sacrifices, including giving up sleep to ensure he could devote equal attention to both his business and studies.
“It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I learned a lot about time management and prioritisation and I developed skills that will benefit me for the rest of my life.”
Michael’s success is a testament to the power of hard work and perseverance.
He has built a thriving business and is making a name for himself in the consultancy sector.
