She scored 24 points in five subjects at A Level but her dreams seem to be hitting a brick wall.
Her parents are not able to take her further to pursue her dream.
This is the story of Shalom Kanda whose journey to be a lawyer has been put on hold due to financial challenges. She scored big at Advanced Level while she was at St Faith High School in Manicaland.
Her promising journey is now in jeopardy due to financial challenges.
In an interview, Shalom said her dream is to become a lawyer.
“After I finished my A Level studies, my parents failed to take me further. They can no longer afford my university fees.”
“My mother is a housewife and my father works at a local bakery and the money is not even enough,” she said.
“I finished my A Level last year at St Faith High School in Rusape and managed to score 24 points in five subjects. It was a dream come true passing with flying colours but now I can’t go further.” Surprisingly, according to her friends at school, Shalom was one of the best students and she attest to that judging by the number of points she attained at A Level.
“I was one of the outstanding students in the country scoring 24 points in 5 subjects which include History, Economic, History, Literature in English, Sociology, and Family and Religious Studies,” she said.
“Those who want to help me can contact me on 0776 262508.”
She had always been passionate about education and dreamed of pursuing a career as a lawyer.
Despite her best efforts to secure scholarships and financial aid, Shalom found herself facing the harsh reality that without significant financial support, her dreams of becoming a lawyer would remain just that dreams.
