Harare based award winning business woman Ms Rosemary Nyachowe who is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Adahram Investment, a company which specializes in land development and construction attributed her business success to; preparedness that eventually met opportunity.
She started her fast growing business with humble beginnings together with other family members who are also major shareholders in the business.
Ms Nyachowe recently scooped the Female Founder Star of the Year Award and her company was also nominated as Outstanding Real Estate Company of the Year at the Female Founders Initiative Middle East and Africa (FFI-MEA) 2023 Female Founders Business Awards of the Year ceremony held in South Africa last weekend.
The prestigious ceremony featured successful business people from Africa and the Middle East. Ms Nyachowe’s accolades came barely a day after she scooped the Outstanding Woman in Construction Bronze Business Award during the MegaFest Business Award Ceremony held in Harare.

She started her business in 2020, a few months before the Covid-19 lockdown, after she had tried to venture into different professions including being employed at Lobel’s Bakeries as a sales and marketing regional manager in Harare. During her time at Lobel’s, she managed to grow sales from 35 % to 100%, an achievement that earned her recognition and respect in the company.
Her work experience in different business settings and her academic qualifications has laid a foundation that enabled her to achieve success in business. Opportunities eventually presented themselves along her journey.
“I believe that success comes when preparedness meets opportunity. As a businesswoman, I worked very hard to obtain the knowledge which I acquired through my experience from various work settings as well as my school education.
“This ultimately laid a strong foundation that, when opportunities came before me, they did not go to waste. I’m always prepared to grab every opportunity that enables me to grow as a business person,” she said.

Her construction company focuses on developing as well as selling land. The company is also
into road construction, sewer infrastructure, water reticulation, electricity installation and property development.
Ms Nyachowe said she started from humble beginnings as a business consultancy in the construction industry without any form of capital and later established her company when her clientele grew.
“We began from scratch, with no capital base, not even an office. All we had was the desire, the zeal, the energy, good relations and the objective of what we wanted to achieve,” she said.

“We started by ‘running around people’, connecting those who required services to the service providers on a consultant basis until we became established enough to run independently. Ms Nyachowe is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in the School of Ministry, holder of an Advanced Diploma in International Marketing Strategy and a certified public speaker, an experience which supports her to help other people.
“Being a motivator myself, I’m passionate about counselling the downtrodden, holding their hands, uplifting their spirits and helping them to stand again in order for them to run,” she added.
Currently, Ms Nyachowe is working in partnership with Romapix Resources in Nyabira on a
land development project on 269 hectares of land owned by a local company DATCO group.
The project is expected to accommodate more than 3 400 households within its boundaries
upon completion.
