Sudan applauds Russia’s proposal over Syria

KHARTOUM — Sudanese government welcomed the Russian proposal to put Syria’s chemical weapons under international control, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.   Sudanese government also acclaimed Syria’s acceptance of the Russian proposal and renewal of its readiness to take part in Geneva talks to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis, according to a statement issued by Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sudan further expressed its rejection of any military aggression against Syria under any pretext, as well as reiterated its call for achieving a peaceful settlement and legal aspirations of Syrian people in social justice, democracy and development.

Sudan urged all the Syrian parties to defuse any new military confrontation in the region as it would lead to serious consequences on the international security and stability. – Xinhua
