Sudan inflict more pain on Zimbabwe

BRAZZAVILLE. — Sudan inflicted more pain on Zimbabwe at the Africa Games Brazzaville 2015, when they defeated the Southern African side 1-0 at Stade Alphonse Massemba-Debat yesterday. A late goal by Hamza Farag in the 92nd minute was enough to hand the Sudanese a deserved victory. After suffering a 1-0loss at the hands of Burkina Faso in their Group A opener, the Young Warriors of Zimbabwe remain pointless with one more game to play, which puts them out of contention for a spot in the knock-out stage.

However, they will still have to face hosts Congo on Sunday before bidding farewell to the continental tournament.

On the other hand, the victory for the Sudanese side means they are now tied with Burkina Faso on three points, after the Stallions fell 1-2 to the Red Devils, and Sunday’s match between the two rivals will decide who join the hosts in the semifinals. — MTN Football.
