Sulu descends on Spillway

Although the musician has been sampling these new songs at his shows in Harare and other areas, this is the first time that “Mwana Wedangwe” will oblige his fans who frequent the trendy joint which is located on the shores of Lake Chivero.
Sulu last performed at the joint a long time ago and this time he returns to the venue with jazz outfit Too Open of “Matida Hostels” fame in tow.

Also noteworthy about the gig is that families will also have a chance to witness Sulu playing with the backing of his new-look Orchestra Dendera Kings outfit that has new acquisitions in the form of dancer Francis “Slomo” Dhaka, backing vocalist Elton Muropa and guitarist Noel Nyazanda.
Some of Sulu’s latest songs include “Njiva”, “Young Man” and “Sona”, among others.

Sulu will be out to justify why his album “Non Stop” was one of the best last year and why he deserved to scoop a Nama Award.

Too Open, on the other hand, are one of the hottest jazz outfits in the country and apart from their own songs, they play copyrights from several musicians that include Thomas

Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi as well as foreign classical artistes.
