SULUMAN Chimbetu says he is in good books with his two cousins – Tryson and Douglas.
He once again invited them on stage during a show held at a local hotel at the weekend.
Tryson is son of the late Naison Chimbetu while Douglas is Allan’s son.
During the show, Tryson and Douglas sang lead vocals for Orchestra Dendera Kings.
The set featured Suluman on acoustic guitar, Moffatt Nyamupandu (bass guitar), Knowledge Nkoma (lead guitar), Tafadzwa Museka (sub rhythm) and drummer Silas Chakanyuka.

Solo Chimbetu – one of Chopper’s sons who doubles as Orchestra Dendera Kings’ assistant manager – saluted Suluman for his maturity for embracing his cousins.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Sulu for caring for us after our father, Simon Chimbetu, passed away.
“We were still young (when Chopper died), Sulu schooled and fed us. Today, he united us and we are all working in this band.
“He also united all the clan orphans.
“For instance, we are also working with Baba Braim Chimbetu’s son and we are now a closer family than ever.
“We are very happy under him because he is a very tolerant brother, vana tonetsa, but he just gives you one word that will ring and control you for life.”
He said Suluman is a man who doesn’t hold grudges.
“He forgives, he does not seek revenge and he keeps quiet and gives time to settle everything,” said Solo.
Over the years, there have been reports of bad blood between Suluman and Tryson.
Suluman has, however, silenced his foes after helping Tryson fight drug and alcohol abuse, through rehabilitation.
He is the one who facilitated the rehabilitation and stayed with him at some point.
Suluman is the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) brand ambassador.
He was conferred with the rank of Assistant Commissioner by the late former (ZPCS) Commissioner-General (retired) Major-General Paradzai Zimondi at the Harare Central Prison.
