MULTI-award winning musician, Jah Prayzah, is back in Mutare for a date with his legion of fans when he performs at a rejuvenated leisure centre, The Platinum alongside heir to the Dendera throne, Suluman Chimbetu, on Sunday. The formidable combination will take turns to entertain hundreds of fans expected to throng the spacious venue in a potentially intriguing gig scheduled to start at 8 pm.
The show organisers said the two would curtain up the entertainment calendar for this year. “We will be hosting a flurry of musicians on a weekly basis this year. “We will hold shows from Friday up to Sunday as from this weekend. We have decided to kick start our journey with the best ever combination in Zimbabwe and we are expecting a bumper crowd.
“We will be hosting one international artiste per month while regional artistes are also expected to be part of the line up,” said the organisers.
The development will accord Mutare-based artistes grand chances to prove their mettle in front of bumper crowds that normally flock the venue. Sulu, in an interview said he was going to officially launch his three newly-released singles, “Macamarada”, “Zororo” and “Open Your Heart”, which were released late last year. The song “Open Your Heart features Australian singer Lisa Viola. It was produced in Australia.
“It’s all because of the overwhelming support I get from my fans in Mutare. “Our fans there have been lovely. We will play all the tracks in full when we come there. I am also currently working on the DVD for ‘Gunship’. As usual, I will release my sixth album before end of this year,” he said.
The Dendera exponent is expected to belt a blend of old and new tracks from his rich discography such as “Nyuchi” featuring Soul Jah Love, “Hondo”, “Sean Timba” and “Idah Nhoro” featuring Oliver Mtukudzi, “Phone” featuring Somandla Ndebele.
Jah Prayzah, a performer par excellence, who is currently riding high with chart-buster “Jerusarema”, is also expected to thrill fans with his well-choreographed acts. Some of his danceable tunes include “Makanika”, “Eriza”, “Chinamira”, “Tsviriyo” and “Gochi Gochi”.
