Dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu, affectionately known as Sulu, has been billed to perform at the Chedenga Foundation fundraising concert tomorrow at Theatre in the Park.
Sulu will share the stage with Ammi Jamanda, Spider, Jah Lemmy, DJ Squilla, and Deejay Holy, among others.
According to the organisers of the event, it will be held under the strict observance of all the Covid-19 regulations.
In an interview, Sulu said he was excited to take part in this initiative and encouraged fans to come and support the fundraising concert.
“We are coming in to help the Chedenga Foundation so as to raise funds for the underprivileged and homeless children,” he said.
“The whole band will be there. I know lockdown has been difficult for everyone and every entity around the globe, but we thank God for His covering and the gift of life. My new album is coming out next year.”
The concert is in partnership with Chedenga Foundation and Dollarbill Entertainment.
Chedenga Foundation started its operations in 2020, helping children in poor communities with access to education, support to people living with disabilities, provision of food and awareness to children living on the streets among other charity programmes.
Ratidzo Eunice Tava, who is the founding director for the organisation, says she appreciates the role played by artists in the improvement of livelihoods.
Other institutions supporting the fundraising event are Nyaradzo Group and Rooftop Promotions.
