Sulu, Zoey square off

Orchestra Dendera Kings will square off with raunchy dancers Red Angels today at the newly-opened Club Las Vegas in Southerton.
This would be the first time that the two groups meet at the venue which is fast becoming the prime spot for revellers and merry makers in the city.Suluman, or Sulu in short, commands a huge following which he built since taking over from his late father Simon Chimbetu.

But Sulu no longer rides on his father’s coat-tails but has built a firm fan base since he went solo.

Whenever, Sulu takes to the stage fans are assured of a thrilling act from start to finish. His choreography and crowd control is amazing.

Every show is different and he is not as predictable as his critics say because he has plenty up his sleeves.

The multiple NAMA award winner has kept dendera music alive and perhaps will continue to be the torch bearer in the genre due to his level headedness.

So far, the Orchestra Dendera Kings has been consistent since Sulu took over the reigns and there is no end in endorsement deals coming their way.

Added to this, Sulu is rated among the best performers at the moment.

On the other hand pole Zoey Sifalani who leads the Red Angels will be out to prove they are the best in pole dancing.

Revellers turn up in large numbers to watch Zoey and her troupe, wearing very skimpy and revealing clothing, dance on poles.

Although the Red Angels technically do not strip, their dances and costumes leave very little to the imagination.

As with all forms of dancing, a great deal depends when considering whether it is an art form, on the clothing worn or not worn, remembering that all dancing has at least some erotic element.

Las Vegas, formerly Octopus in Southerton is now under new management and boasts four bars.

There is the VIP section where there is a stage, bright lights complete with pool tables.

This is where some of the who’s who of Harare come to party every weekend. It has been three months since it opened its doors and already, the vibe has taken Harare by storm.

The allure of the club is the secure car park as the club is opposite Southerton Provincial Police Headquarters and well stocked bars.

The joint has also played host Tryson Chimbetu and raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda who performed before a sold-out crowd.

No doubt this weekend appears to be a great one considering that Zoey and Sulu will perform back-to-back.
