On a night which the country’s top musicians in the mould of veteran Oliver Mtukudzi and Winky D, Sulu had to dig deep and the song proved to be just what the doctor had prescribed.
When Sulu got on the stage, all people could think of was the song and many people could be heard chanting “Sean Timba”.
Sulu made sure that fans would not get a half-backed performance and had to summon Jah Prayzah, who made a brief apperance before heading to Pamuzinda where he was scheduled to perform.
Sulu and Jah Prayzah performed the song much to the delight of the fans.
Sulu has now earned himself the name “Sean Timba” from his legions of fans.
However, Sulu was not the only one who gave a good account of himself.
As had become the norm, the people’s choice, Winky D, gave a splendid performance to cap a memorable night.
The dancehall chanter was full of energy and his well-choreographed act was a beauty to watch.
He belted some of his greatest hits and what the fully packed crowd could only do was to sing along and enjoy themselves.
The grandmaster of music, Mtukudzi, did not disappoint either and he must be commended for choosing his playlist carefully
Mtukudzi chose songs with a fast beat so as not to dampen the party spirit which had engulfed the City Sports Centre venue.
Munya Mataruse, who was the opening act at the gig, also gave a polished performance and it seems as if he is maturing with each outing.
