Organisers of the annual Summer Out USA have revealed that the 2023’s event will be bigger and better as they celebrate their fifth anniversary.

The event, which is aimed at raising donations for the elderly in Ruwa, was held in Atlanta, Georgia, last month.

Club wheel-spinners 1 Beat, Donso, Fyah and Kule performed at the event.

The donations which included food, clothing and basic necessities, were handed out by Pastor Blessing and her team of Body of Christ Church of Nora Bromley.

In an interview with H Metro, event organiser, Fungai Chimbwanda, said :

“Summer Out has been happening for the last four years and we are glad this initiative which was implemented to help the elderly in Zimbabwe and Malawi is getting bigger.

“A team of Zimbabweans and Malawians in Atlanta get together for this event every year to eat, drink and dance together, and most importantly give back to our elderly in our countries.

“Next year we are celebrating our fifth event and we are so excited and looking forward to a much bigger event and hopefully bigger donations too.”

He added:

“It is important for us not to forget our elderly as they once helped us and now it’s our turn to take care of them.

“It’s important to seed love among us as people, as the greatest gift we have is to love.

“ Love conquers all.”
