Sunday Buzz: Mai Charamba reportedly banned from performing in Byo

RENOWNED gospel diva — Mai Charamba is reported to have been banned from performing in Bulawayo by the city council, over an issue to do with show posters.

The gospel diva is alleged to be at loggerheads with the Bulawayo City Council over putting up posters around the city without the consent of the council.

It is further reported that council has on several occasions sought audience with her in vain to discuss the issue, leaving the city council with no option but to “ban” her from performing in the city.

Mai Charamba last performed in Bulawayo a few months ago at a gospel concert that was organised for various singers from across the country.

According to the council’s bylaws all promoters that wish to put up posters around the city have to pay a fixed rate to do so.
