Entertainment Reporter
Mutare comes alive on Sunday as musicians Jah Prayzah , Blessing Shumba, Hosiah Chipanga and Trymore Bande share the stage at a family show at Pick ‘n’ Save.Event organiser Esau Mupfumi said they planned the event after requests by patrons that the venue hosts a family event.

“The venue has become the most popular entertainment centre for Mutare but most of the events were held during the night,so patrons have been requested for a family event.

“We want everyone to have a chance to see these great musical giants in their own backyard,” said Mupfumi.

He added that he was trying to promote Mutare artistes through inviting them at most of his shows.

“We encourage artistes to be united and this event is one of those platforms as it has two artistes from the city.  Jah Prayzah is the big act of the event and looking forward to a great show,” he said.

Shumba is a popular gospel artiste who has produced songs such as “Mufaro”, “Hama”, “Nhaka”, “Kurwa Kwakanaka” and “Shongwe” among others. The musician said he would be playing new songs for the first time in Mutare from his next album to be released later in the year.

“The new album is now ready and we are finalising its launch.  This show has given us another chance to give our fans new stuff,” said Shumba. He said some of the songs that will feature on the album are “Kutenda”, “Chimwe neChimwe”, “Mwana waAbraham” and “Ndomudzanira”.

“This time I collaborated with my wife on a song called ‘Rudo’ and we are looking forward to a great reception of the album.”
Jah Prazyah is on top of the game while Chipanga, who has been keeping a low profile, is expected to prove he he still good for the stage.

New kid on the block Bande has made waves with his album “Zvakagara Zvakadaro” and will be performing at the venue for the second time and also  promised a polished act at the show.
