MUTARE’s upcoming sungura musician has stormed the music industry by dropping a well-arranged six-track debut album titled Zviripo Zviripo.
Noah Mhangura, a gifted wordsmith, saw his dream of preaching to the people through music coming to fruition after releasing the project laden with inspiring messages.
The album which hit the streets this week, curtains up with a love song and potential hit, Molly where the singer is heaping praise on his beautiful lover, asking God to take of them in the face of adversities.
On Wako, Mhangura urges couple to be love and care for each other and not allow jealous of selfishness ruin god-given unions.
The song Tipeiwo nguva is a plea to his fans to brace up for brighter days ahead in the sungura industry.
Other tracks on the album are Tinokutendai, Kupa nekugamuchira and Taungana.
For a novice like Mhangura, the album is above average and has well-arranged instruments which blend well with vocals.
“I want my music to speak for itself.
“I took my time to come up with a polished album so that I will register my presence in the competitive sungura music industry with a bang. I was inspired by my brother who always longed to be a musician. I could steal his lead guitar and play it alone. I am glad my dream came true and I am willing to face any challenges encountered in the music industry,” said Mhangura who is backed by Donhodzo sounds.
The 34-year old husky-voiced lead vocalist, who is inspired by Leonard Dembo’s music, said he would commence live shows early next year to market his newly-released album.
The album was mixed and mastered by Olin Anderson at Kunashe Studios. Seasoned bassist, Confidence Muchafuruka features on bass guitar while David Kanjanda features on rhythm and sub-rhythm guitars.
