Murder suspect further remanded

A FUGITIVE murder suspect, who stands accused of taking part in fatally assaulting a burglar in Sakubva early this month has been arrested and brought before the courts. Lovemore Maworere(36) was not asked to plead when he appeared before Mrs Sekai Chiundura.

He was granted $50 bail.

Mr Fletcher Karombe prosecuted.

It was the State’s case that on October 28, 2015 Maworere together with five other accomplices took turns to assault the now deceased, Everlast Chimbo by striking him with a wooden plank and electric cables.

“The assault caused multiple injuries all over the body which resulted in his death before he could get any medical assistance.

“Police recovered nine pieces of broken wooden planks, a broken half brick and a plastic electric cable pipe which were used in the assault,” said Mr Karombe.

The other four suspects Gift Nyamarabvu, Pride Munyika, Sylvester Mushunje and Amon Muchena have since appeared in court and were remanded to the December 12.

Police are still hunting for another suspect, Trymore Munyika who was also implicated in the murder and disappeared.
