Sup8r Cup on the ropes

The Zifa board was sucked into the controversy after Highlanders and the Premiership leaders approached the mother body to break the impasse created by the abandoned BancABC Sup8r Cup semi-final between Bosso and DeMbare at Barbourfields.

A Premiership arbitration committee ruled in favour of Dynamos, awarding the game to the Glamour Boys on a 3-0 scoreline, but Bosso went to court and won an interim order suspending the final, between DeMbare and CAPS United, until their semi-final protests have been resolved.

Zifa ruled this week that Dynamos and Highlanders should replay the abandoned semi-final in Kwekwe next week.

But The Herald can reveal today that the Dynamos leadership have resolved that they will not feature in a replay against Highlanders and will instead ask the Premiership management committee to go ahead and organise a Sup8r Cup final between Bosso and Makepekepe.

Although Dynamos are yet to officially write to the PSL leadership advising them on their latest position, The Herald was advised yesterday that a decision has already been taken and the Glamour Boys’ leadership is united in rejecting the Zifa offer.
