Supa Diski not up to standards – SAFA insider

JOHANNESBURG. An insider at SAFA has agreed with Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos that the standard of the PSL is not at the required level.

The league is home to some of Zimbabwe’s leading footballers, including Khama Billiat.

It has also provided a home for one of the country’s leading coaches, Kaitano Tembo, for more than two decades.

“Unfortunately he is 100% correct,” the SAFA insider who did not want to be named tells KickOff.

“Yes. absolutely the PSL’s standard is not good enough compared to the national team players who ply their trade in Europe.

“More players need to play in Europe. There is no room for growth in the PSL for players.

“Clubs need to have only a certain number of players on their books.

“Look at Teboho Mokoena, a top talent, but he is not playing, so how can he be selected for Bafana?

“Top players these days sit in the stands.

“Broos is the only one who is willing to say it like it is.

“He needs cooperation from the PSL and the coaches. That’s what he is saying.

“Broos asked a few times to meet with PSL coaches, but he’s been ignored.

“The PSL is able to assist the national team needs an effort from everyone, not just the Bafana head coach.

“All coaches in the country need to work together to resolve the crisis.” – KickOff.com
