ORGANISERS of the Supa Power four-team tournament set for Botswana in two weeks’ time have received an Econet biller code that will be used by fans to select their preferred players for the tourney.

The code is 33220 and it will be officially launched in Harare on Wednesday and is set to go live the following day.

“The Supa Power Tournament SMS Promotion Code for Zimbabwe is now in place. Club supporters will use the SMS code to choose their preferred players and there are lots of prizes to be won by supporters that will participate,” said tournament director Joy Setshedi.

According to her, prizes include $500 airtime, 100 complimentary tickets as well as 10 smartphones on the day of the tournament.

She also confirmed that 3 000 advance tickets had been availed for Zimbabwean supporters, but the figure could rise to 10 000, depending on the response.

The tournament will feature Highlanders, who will take on Mochudi Centre Chiefs of Botswana in the opening game, while Dynamos face Tafic.

Teams and line-ups will be chosen along the lines of the Carling Black Label Cup that features South African giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

The teams and line-ups for the Carling Black Label Cup are chosen by Carling Black Label customers, who submit an 11-digit code found on Carling Black Label products and have their vote registered. Customers also choose which substitutions to make in-game by voting via text message.

Dynamos and Highlanders are set to get a percentage of the money generated from the SMSes.

The tournament will also benefit Zimbabwe Women’s Football after organisers made a resolution to donate a certain percentage from ticket sales to the association. — @skhumoyo2000
