LONDON. – Opta’s AI supercomputer has made its predictions for the upcoming midweek Premier League fixtures and it’s safe to say there are a few surprises in there.
Over the next three days, all 20 of England’s top-flight teams will be in action, with plenty still to play for at both ends of the table.
The most intriguing fixture of this week is, without a doubt, the top-of-the-table clash between Manchester City and Arsenal tonight.
According to Opta’s stats, Manchester City have a 62.6 percent chance of beating the Gunners, who have been given a 15.1 percent chance of success at the Etihad.
It suggests that if City beat Arsenal, they will have a 91 percent chance of retaining the Premier League title. Mikel Arteta’s side, meanwhile, have been given a 56 percent chance of winning the league, if they manage to beat City tonight.
The supercomputer also claimed the league title would be City’s to lose if the match ended in a draw, with the hosts given a 72 percent chance of claiming the trophy in that scenario.
It also made the brave claim that Tottenham will emerge victorious from their encounter with Man United tomorrow, despite their dismal run of late. – Mailonline/The Sun
