THE Scorpion Kings were in town on Friday and provided a show for the ages.
This was their maiden performance in Harare and Amapiano kings, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, showed why they have become one of the biggest acts on the continent.
Their well-attended show was held at the Hippodrome.
The South African artists resonated well with the fans and turned on a vintage performance which should teach local stars a thing or two about performing at this high level.
They performed a mix of Amapiano-influenced hit songs from 2020 to date.
The superstar duo serenaded the auditorium, inviting fans to sing-along the songs that created some feel-good memories.
DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small were accompanied by South African award-winning emcee, artist and presenter, Uncool MC.
Uncool MC performed some of his songs including ‘Imali Ikhona” and “Kwenzakalan.”
“Harare, you have been great, we appreciate the love, love you all,” said Kabza De Small.
The night also saw the Chillspot duo of DJ Fantan and DJ Levels performing at the event.
DJ Fantan and Levels have become part of the Mashwede Entertainment stable.
The pair also took the chance to parade their latest finding, Madedido.
The young chanter serenaded fans with his hit song, Attack Majapanese.
Zimdancehall sensation, Master H, also showed why he is the man-of-the-moment on the local showbiz scene with an excellent performance.
Master H performed his popular hits including ‘Dance Around Together’, ‘Kufamba Nekutenda’, ‘Nawanadem’, ‘Dhanzi’ and ‘Zvirimo Mumoyo.’
Holy Ten and songbird Tamy Moyo were also part of the lineup.
Show organisers, Mashwede Holdings reckon they have what it takes to continue pulling such big events.
“It was exciting, we recorded a good crowd and this shows that the fans are willing to support us as long as we bring their favourite artists.
“We thank everyone for coming and hope to continue doing more events in the future,” said one of the organisers, DJ Iroq.
