CAPTAIN Britain, also known as ‘Chibaba Chemangoma’ has called on music lovers to support his latest release.
He says he needs the support to push his music to a wider audience.
The musician recently dropped two songs, ‘Mbavha’ and ‘Wakanyengwa naTawanda’, which he hopes will help him make further strides in his music career.
However, ‘Chibaba Chemangoma’ says he has been concerned by the level of support his music is receiving on digital platforms, particularly YouTube, where he is urging fans to stream and share his work.
According to the musician, ‘Mbavha” currently has 26,000 views on YouTube, while “Wakanyengwa naTawanda” has accumulated about 6,000 views.
“‘Mbavha’ has 26k views on YouTube. It needs more views to reach a million views, and ‘Wakanyengwa naTawanda’ has 6k views. It needs more views to reach a million again,” he said.
‘Chibaba Chemangoma’ described himself as an artist who desperately needs the backing of his community as he works towards building his career.
“I am asking for support. I am your local artist, please,” he said.
The musician also expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of adequate support from some promoters.
He said he felt that some promoters were not giving him enough opportunities, making it difficult for him to reach more audiences and grow his profile within the entertainment industry.
He also appealed to people who interact with him personally to extend the same support to his music.
He said some people often approach him for photographs and autographs but do not necessarily follow up by visiting his YouTube channel or supporting his releases. “Some other people need photos with me, but they don’t go to YouTube to support my works,” he said.
The musician also spoke about criticism he receives from some sections of the public, saying there are people who mock him and do not take his musical ambitions seriously.
He said he wants to attract fans who believe in his talent and are willing to help him develop his career.
“Some other people would mock me. They see me as nothing. I need fans who give me enough support,” he said.
Social media interactions have also become a source of concern for the musician.
‘Chibaba Chemangoma’ said his TikTok live sessions sometimes attract more negative comments than positive messages.
“When I open my live on TikTok, most of the people would comment negatively rather than comment positively,” he said.
Despite the criticism, the musician remains determined to continue pursuing his dreams.
He said negative comments would not convince him to abandon music, insisting that he believes his career can eventually transform his life.
“Haters can say leave music, as they are going to give me some that can help me change my life completely,” he said.
