‘Support women candidates’

Machivenyika Herald Reporter
Zanu-PF Harare province women’s league chairperson Cde Ratidzo Mukarati has urged women to support female candidates that will contest in the party’s primary elections to be held on May 5.

Cde Mukarati said this yesterday while addressing members of the women’s league at Chemhanza grounds in Tafara.

“Zanu-PF is a strong party because of us women, so we are saying when we get to the primary elections, let’s be united and support fellow female candidates. Let us uplift each other,” she said.

She also urged women to continue registering to vote in order to ensure a resounding victory for President Mnangagwa and the party.

“The President has come up with a number of programmes, including his call that Zimbabwe is open for business, and that will directly benefit us women; so we should show our gratitude by retaining him in office to continue with his good work,” said Cde Mukarati.

“Let us continue registering to vote, the process is still going on. The only way we can be sure that we will win the elections is mass participation as voters,” she said.

Yesterday’s meeting was attended by members of the provincial women’s league executive and scores of women party supporters from the district.

The ruling party organs have been on a drive to encourage their supporters to register to vote.
