Suspect bleats like a goat

Tendai Rupapa Senior Court Reporter
In a suspected ritual case, an accused criminal who broke into people’s homes, churches and schools stealing valuables, bleated continuously like a goat bringing court business to a halt on Saturday.

Police had a torrid time as they tried to take Tinashe Makuza (18) into court. The court proceedings had to be conducted in a car park where Makuza was lying at the back of a police vehicle.

As the allegations were being put to him, Makuza continuously bleated like a goat while frothing at the mouth. He did not even utter a single word as he continued behaving like a goat.

The magistrate, Ms Vongai Muchuchuti remanded him in custody to July 4 after the prosecutor Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa applied to have him examined by two medical doctors.
