Suspensions haunt Bosso

HIGHLANDERS will once again have to do without one of their key players in their league game against Herentals College on Sunday owing to suspension.

Peter Muduhwa missed last weekend’s derby clash against Chicken Inn and now, midfielder Melikhaya Ncube is suspended for their upcoming game.

Ahead of Sunday’s encounter, head coach Kelvin Kaindu appeared to defend his players as some critics have been arguing that there is an element of indiscipline in the team.

“I think both Peter Muduhwa and Ncube have been on two yellow cards for quite a while now. I think Mudhuwa has been on two yellow cards for about nine to 10 games.

“It’s just unfortunate that the yellow card was given to him in the last game. l am not the referee but l think he did his best for the team and it’s unfortunate he got a yellow card. Coming to Ncube, he also has been on two yellow cards for some time now,” said Kaindu.

The Zambian coach shared how his team has prepared for the game against Herentals.

“In terms of match preparations. We may have good news and bad news. The bad news is that we saw Prince Ndlovu limping off last Sunday and he is one of the key players and he joins our injury list this week. We had Muduhwa missing but he is back. Godfrey Makaruse has also made progress and could be available on Sunday.

“We are still yet to assess the levels of fitness for Never Rauzhi. Our other challenge is that we have another suspension with Melikhaya Ncube set to sit out this weekend. I think that puts us at a disadvantage but we are working with everyone that is available for us to prepare for the game that we are playing on Sunday,” said Kaindu.

On Ndlovu’s injury Kaindu said: “It’s not that bad, we are just anticipating that in two weeks he must be able to resume training.”

Highlanders are in position three on the table with 38 points while Herentals are in eighth position with 32 points.

In other matches, Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos will return to action after representing the country in Africa in the last fortnight to face Yadah and Chegutu Pirates respectively.

Chicken Inn will travel to the Colliery Stadium for a date with Hwange.
