CHAMPIONSHIP winning Gunners midfielder and 2009 Soccer Star of the year, Ramson Zhuwawo was due to pen a one-year contract with the most decorated MTN Premier League of Swaziland giants Mbabane Highlanders this week.

Zhuwawo, who has played for Gunners, Dynamos and South African side AmaZulu, arrived in Swaziland on Monday afternoon ending weeks of speculation and was due to be joined by Charles Mutero on Wednesday.

In an interview on Tuesday, Zhuwawo said he was ready for the new challenge at Gwaza Nkunzi as Mbabane Highlanders are affectionately.

a?I am yet to sign the contract but I have since started training with them and we are due to meet on Wednesday but everything is set,a? said Zhuwawo.

Zhuwawo and Mutero will add to a growing list of Zimbabwe soccer coaches and players that have featured for Mbabane Highlanders.

The list has Godfrey Tamirepi, Stanford Ncube, Jacob Muzokomba, Master Masiku, Hloniphani Ndebele, Marshall Machazane and Murape Murape.

If anything, the more than 10 000 Zimbabweans living here can catch glimpses of home football with Manzini Wanderers handing Julius Chakupewa a three-year contract as head coach.

Chakupewa joins two other Zimbabwe born coaches Hebert Maruwa (Green Mamba) and Tarisai Chingara (Tambuti FC).

Meanwhile, Patridge Muskweas academy midfielder who is on loan at Zifa Southern Region Division One log leaders Bantu Rovers, Ben Musaka has waltzed his way into Black Leopards hearts.

When the South Africaas National First Division outfit checked into Swaziland on a month long training they were without him, but if anything, the Zimbabwe U20 captain has definitely earned his way into the Limpopo based side during his trial stint.

A contract is almost certain and itas aA matter of when Leopards will be tabling an offer for the diminutive defensive midfielder whose goal in the 1-0 friendly match win over Manzini Sundowns last Saturday earned interest in him.

The win left the Jairos Tapera coached side unbeaten in their five friendly matches with three wins and two draws as they head into their last matches this weekend before heading back home.
