THE Warriors’ squad is set to fly out of the country this morning to Johannesburg en route to Mbabane for the first leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland tomorrow afternoon.
The Group L match will be broadcast live on Supersport 4HD, SS4 and SS9 at 2.50PM.
Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said: “The guys are leaving tomorrow (today) morning at 6AM. They will then go by road from Johannesburg to Swaziland,” said Gwesela.
Zimbabwe and Swaziland are both on four points, but Sihlangu top the table having scored more goals than the Warriors.
Warriors’ coach Callisto Pasuwa ranks his opponents as a banana skin that could wreck his team’s qualification aspirations, according to Swaziland’s Observer newspaper.
A double over Sihlangu would see the Warriors knocking on the doors of qualification as they will take their points’ tally to 10, with one more home game against Malawi to come.
The Warriors will wrap up their qualifying campaign with an away match against Guinea in Conakry, but that match could prove to be academic, especially if both Malawi and Guinea fail to get six points in their two matches.
A home win for the Warriors against Malawi will take their points’ tally to an unassailable 13 as all the other three countries can only reach a maximum of 10 points.
