ON May 17, two of the city’s promising talents, Swazy (pronounced Sway-zee) and KhweziZW will team up for their inaugural show, “Fusion Fiesta 2025”. The event will take place at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe (NGZ) in Bulawayo and will feature a unique collaboration with the Harare-based clothing brand, Guided Youth.
The “Fusion Fiesta 2025” is the brainchild of Artisan 31, who envisioned a platform for artistes from different genres to collaborate while promoting fashion. The event will feature additional performances from local artistes, including KayKid Umfanomsotho, Paris Knight, and Nsizwa Black.

Swazy, a rapper and producer recently signed to RareSound Records in Harare, expressed her enthusiasm for the event.
“The audience can expect to see something different from what the artistic scene has been offering, a more personal event where they will be able to get to know the creatives behind everything,” she shared.
Swazy’s career has seen significant milestones, particularly with her recent signing to RareSound Records, which has bolstered her music production efforts.
“The RareSound records signing has definitely impacted the push of my music, especially the producer aspect of it,” she said.
Fans can look forward to her upcoming beat tape demo, titled “The Good News Tape Demos,” which will feature a collection of beats she has been crafting.

KhweziZW, another talented artiste in the line-up, is also gearing up for the event with high expectations. He revealed that preparations are well underway, and the main acts are set to unveil a surprise song together during the show.
“This year, I’m going to release a six-track project, something close to my heart,” KhweziZW said.
He also hinted at the emotional depth and variety of themes his upcoming work will explore.
Swazy emphasised the importance of establishing a personal relationship with fans through live performances.
“I do believe most times at gigs, the pace is fast, and one doesn’t have the opportunity to really introduce themselves to people. When an artiste is personal with their fans, it contributes to having a stronger fan base,” she noted.
This event also aims to redefine perceptions of young Christian creatives. Swazy, who collaborates with Guided Youth, a brand co-founded by Sanders Mutsimba, Kingstone Zimunya, and Ngaatendwe Mapako, hopes to showcase a modern take on Christian artistry.
“Most people think that when it comes to Christian creatives, their music is corny. But I believe that when one is in touch with the creator, they become the best creative because he is inside of them,” she said. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
