BULAWAYO Chiefs coach, Lizwe Sweswe, believes his men can put their inconsistent form behind them and go on a winning run.
They are set to host Chicken Inn at Luveve tomorrow in a Castle Lager Premiership match.
Sweswe challenged his troops to be more aggressive upfront, insisting their 1-2 loss against FC Platinum last weekend, doesn’t reflect their performance.
It’s been a nervy start for the Ninjas who lost the majority of their senior players during the off-season.
“We are playing a local derby and this might be the good time for us to put behind our struggles and record our first win.
“But, it needs the players to be more aggressive in the final third because if you look at how we lost to FC Platinum, it wasn’t a match which we were supposed to lose because we created more scoring chances than our opponents.
“And, it’s a sign that things are starting to fall into place and it’s now a matter of consistency in forcing our luck and I believe we are now close.”
He added:
“We need to get ourselves out of this situation because it’s even more difficult to play any team when you’re in the basement.
“It’s something which impacts these players psychologically and the boys know what is required from them for us to get where we belong.”
The Ninjas are going into this match on the back of two losses and two draws.
They are sitting third from the bottom.
And, they have only scored twice in this campaign.
