Matabeleland Amateur Swimming Board (MASB) chairman Eddie Cyprianos confirmed this in an interview yesterday.
The championships which run until Sunday will attract all the traditional swimming clubs from Bulawayo and fireworks are expected as all the clubs are raring to go.
Swimmers from BG Dolphins, Penguins, Barracudas, Falcon and Crusaders are among the many clubs that will take part in the four-day fun-filled event. Victoria Falls’ Zambezi Tigers will take part as usual and are expected to bring a very strong team capable of standing their own ground against the cream of Bulawayo.
Cyprianos said all the age-groups will participate and all of Bulawayo’s top swimmers are expected as they battle it out for honours.
“This will be a big event and the championships will be very competitive from all the age-groups. People must come and witness Bulawayo’s premier swimming event as all the top swimmers will be there,” said Cyprianos.
Ashby Tink, Brendon Andy Cyprianos will be among the star attractions of the tournament.
