Dynamos goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa says hardwork has been the major secret behind his rise at the club.
Tafiremutsa is slowly emerging as the club’s first choice goalkeeper since Taimon Mvula’s role in the starting line-up was reduced halfway through the season.
Tafiremutsa has played in 17 games in all competitions, with 14 games in the league and three in the Chibuku Super Cup.
Since he was trusted to guard goal for DeMbare, the 24-year-old has already produced some heroic saves keeping Dynamos’ hopes of clinching a double alive.
He has managed to keep 11 clean sheets in all the competitions, nine in the league and two in the cup games.
Tafiremutsa believes at Dynamos pressure is a daily dose which he is not taking into his game.
“Hardwork has been the secret behind all this so that I can come up and match each and every game,” said Tafiremutsa.
“Football is a game of pressure and being at Dynamos doesn’t make things better but I take every game as it comes. For me there is no better way than to be there and work with everything that comes through our way.”
While some feel he still has a long way to go before being considered among the club greats, Tafiremutsa says he believes it’s God’s will.
A certain section still believes he is still unripe despite him earning a national call up recently from Warriors coach Baltemor Brito.
“When God says yes, nobody can say no so I would like to thank the most high for giving me this great opportunity.
“With such opportunities I feel it’s best to show what you are capable of doing as you know our goalkeeping department has enough talent. So if given the opportunity we all seek to utilise it and make sure the team gets the best out of it.
He added:
“We need to take each and every game as it comes. We will be facing Manica in our next game and we hope to collect maximum points. “We are aiming to finish very strong and see what happens and as a team and individual I am quite motivated to keep on working hard.”
